Ronaldo Set To Miss Ballon D'Or Event

Real Madrid and Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, will not be attending the Ballon D'or gala night, scheduled to hold this evening, as he has flown to Japan with his club, ahead of the Club World Cup. The 31-year-old, is hot favorite to win the award, and be crowned the best player in the World for the fourth time. 

Reports, confirmed that the player, was on the plane that departed for Tokyo, with other Madrid players, with the exclusion of Gareth Bale, who is out on a 4-months injury spell. The team, is expected to arrive Tokyo at 5:30am local time on Monday, which is 8:30pm UK time.
