Mikel, Musa and Iheanacho Out Of 5-Man African Footballer Of The Year Award List

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has announced the top five players shortlisted for the 2016 CAF African Player of the Year Award. The five-man list consists of last year's winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Algeria's Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Islam Slimani. 
The list which was released today, is missing of Nigerian players; with attention and focus on John Obi-Mikel, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa, as the most likely to have been shortlisted from Nigeria.
The winners, will now be decided by votes from the head coaches and technical directors of the national associations affiliated to CAF. The award is scheduled to hold on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
