Andy Murray, defeated five-time champion Novak Djoovic, to win his first ATP World Tour Finals yesterday, Sunday. With this win, Murray will now end the year 2016 as the World No. 1.
Sunday's defeat ended Novak Djokovic's 122-weeks reign as World number 1, and has now extended his career-best winning run to 24 matches. His win, also ended Djokovic's four-year run of winning the tournament and aim of equaling Roger Federer's record of six titles. "It is very special playing against Novak in a match like this. I'm very happy to win and to be world number one is very special" - Murray said.
"Andy is definitely number one in the world" - a graceful Djokovic said. "He deserved to win. he is the best player".
