Bolt Stripped Of Beijing Gold Medal

usain_bolt-1250x750Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the World, alongside his Jamaican teammates who took part in the 4x100 meters relay race, have all been formally stripped of their Beijing "008 Olympic Gold Medal. This development, follows the disqualification of fellow teammate Nesta Carter, who tested positive to banned substances. 

The decision to strip the team of it's medals, was announced on Wednesday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). A statement by the IOC, reads - ''A re-analysis of frozen samples submitted by Carter resulted in a positive test for banned stimulant methylhexaneamine; a substance that was indirectly but not specifically on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list at the time. The Jamaican team is disqualified from the men's 4x100m relay event. This decision enters into force immediately''. Trinidad and Tobago will now be promoted to the gold medal position. Japan will take the silver medal and Brazil the bronze.
