Marseille, have failed to reach an agreement with West Ham over a deal for midfielder; Dimitri Payet. Sources from Skysports are reporting that West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has rejected an improved second bid worth around £20m from the Ligue 1 side, and is refusing to be bullied into a quick sale, especially as the club has no financial need to sell the 29-year-old midfielder.
Payet, who has earlier turned down numerous offers from clubs in England and China, wants to leave West Ham and return to Marseille due to family reasons. It is understood that Payet is willing to take a 30 percent pay cut if a move to Marseille does go through. Marseille on the other hand, will not consider an offer of less than £30m for Payet, having turned down a £19.1m bid for the France International from Marseille last week.
