The Argentine International finished a City counter-attack as his second goal, and sealed his hat-trick for the evening from the penalty spot after Fernandinho was tripped by Thibaut Courtois, and saw the Chelsea goalkeeper sent off.
The victory, moves City a point above Arsenal, who host Crystal Palace on Sunday, while Chelsea remains 10th with just one win from their last eight Premier league home games.
