Two of Aston Villa's directors; David Bernstein and Mervyn King, on Monday, resigned for the board of the club following the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Bernstein, the former chairman of teh Football Association, only joined the club's board last month, while the former governor of the Bank of England King was appointed in February.
In his resignation letter, King insisted that he had not taken " this course of action lightly. As a supporter of over 55 years, how could I ? But it is no longer possible to carry out the role I was asked to perform".
