Ahead Of Rio 2016; The Major Concerns

With just three weeks until the start of the Rio Olympics, one would imagine that the focus would shift to squad selections, venues, medal prospects, the games' opening ceremony, and of course the joyful and jubilatory euphoria that usually accompanies the build-up to the  Olympic Games.

The first to be hosted by a South American Country, the Rio 2016, from the day it was announced posed for tourists, and spectators, a great ambiance, and cherished memories, and hope that the Rio Games will prove to be something more colorful than the London 2012 Olympics.
The Rio Games, are running at a 51% over-cost on it's stipulated budget. Although the Brazilian Government came out to dispute this, even as the nation is suffering a second year of recession, it's worst economic crisis since the 1930s. Ticket sales have been slow, with about 29% of venue tickets yet to be sold. 
There is also the political upheaval in the country, with the president, Dilma Rousseff suspended in May, pending an impeachment process. The Rio state government, issued a financial statement of disaster in June, stating a huge budget cost as part of its plans to accommodate the Games. There has also been a high increase in cases of police brutality, and general unrest in Brazil. 
There have also been health concerns in the South American region, with the outbreak of the Zika Virus, while the World Health Organisation(WHO), has struggled to play down fears, but the spate of withdrawals of high-profiled athletes from the Games, has poised a major concern to the World, and lovers of the Olympic Games.
