New FIFA Rankings : Super Eagles Drop Nine Places

Nigeria are now 70th in the world, according to the new FIFA ranking released on Thursday. The new ranking sees the Super Eagles dropping nine places, to the 70th position, as against the 61st position previously occupied by the team in June, 2016.
The new ranking, also means the Super Eagles are now ranked as the 16th best team on the African continent. Algeria, who are in Nigeria's 2018 World Cup qualifying group are now the highest-ranked team in Africa.
Euro 2016 champions, Portugal, moved uo two places to sixth, New Zealand, are the biggest climbers. The Oceanic nation is now 93rd, after finishing June in 147th place.
