Serena Williams has equaled the Open era record of 22 Grand Slam titles, after winning the Wimbledon 2016 title against Germany's Angelique Kerber on Saturday. The American defeated Kerber, who is currently the No 4 ranked female tennis player in the World 7-5, 6-3.
The win drew Serena level with Steffi Graf's historic milestone, and added to her number of Wimbledon titles, bringing it to 7, having successfully defended the title she won last year.
