The Nigerian Men Olympic football team, Dream Team IV, are through to the quarter-finals of the Rio 2016 Games. The Dream Team, defeated Sweden 1-0, in the early hours of Monday Morning. The match which started at about 11pm Nigerian time, saw the As Roma forward Sadiq Umar scoring the winning goal for Nigeria in the first half, heading home a cross from Stanley Amuzie.
The Dream Team VI, looked refreshed in their second game, having recovered from the travel issues experienced before the opening match against Japan in Manaus. With this win, Nigeria now have six points and tops Group B, ahead of their last group game against Colombia.
