Rooney Remains England's Captain - Allardyce

Image result for wayne rooney in england jerseyManchester United forward and captain, Wayne Rooney, will remain as England's captain says manager, Sam Allardyce. Rooney, who is England's record goal scorer, took over captainship from Steven Gerard, a year ago.

"Rooney is hugely respected by his peers, and has enjoyed the responsibility as captain. He has been an excellent captain for England. He is the right choice to lead the team"  - Allardyce. The 30-year old, led the English team, during former manager, Roy Hodgson, to the Euros in 2016, and is prepared to lead the team again as they prepare for Sunday's opening 2018 World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
