Roberto Mancini, has been sacked as the manager of Inter Milan, with just two weeks to the start of the Serie A season. The Italian, was dismissed by the club's owners, after the club lost 6-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly match last weekend.
Mancini, who has been under pressure, following his failure to qualify for Champions League football, was shown the exit door by the club's owners. "Inter would like to place on record it's thanks to Roberto for the work carried out with the team since joining in November 2014" - a statement by the club read. "Last season, the club led Serie A until Christmas break, ending the season in fourthy place and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. We thanks Roberto for the work and commitment he has shown the club over the past 20 months".
